Ypres: victory for Kris Meeke

After the domination of Freddy Loix in the first special stages of the IRC rally, the Irishman got the better of the Belgian and never let go of the lead in the rankings thereafter.

Irishman Kris Meeke won the Belgium Ypres Rally this Saturday evening by getting the better of Belgian Freddy Loix in the 12th of 16 specials. His success was facilitated by Loix's puncture in SS13. Both were at the wheel of Peugeot 207 S2000. Czech Jan Kopecky ranks his Skoda Fabia S2000 in 2nd position, 20”4 behind Meeke. A puncture for the Finn Hänninen (Skoda) in the last special allowed Loix to regain a place on the podium at the last minute.
