The Ford Fiesta Rally3 is a Rally4 equipped with 4-wheel drive and when it was presented it was "sold" as a replacement for the Gr N of a few years ago. In terms of sales, however, this was not the surge expected and many championships remained closed to this novelty. His performances during his appearances in WRC or ERC were quite discreet. On certain terrains, this Fiesta even found itself in competition with Rally4s (208, Clio, Fiesta) which were even less competitive.

In order to remedy this, the Polish structure of M-Sport carried out tests with Jon Armstrong (2e of the JWRC in 2021) with the aim of introducing an engine with a 31 mm flange. This should result in 20 additional hp which should allow the Ford to stand out from the Rally4 and get a little closer to the Rally2. From Rally Sweden 2022, it will be used as a base model in the Junior championship and this increase in power will benefit aspiring drivers as they progress to the top category. Interested JWRC hopefuls will have the opportunity to test the car on Tuesday, December 7 at the Silesia Ring circuit in Poland.
