Roberto Merhi won in this second race of the day, giving Prema Powerteam their first victory of the season. Pointed 3rd on the first pass, the pilot of the junior program Mercedes passed Laurens Vanthoor on the next lap, then Marco Wittmann to take the lead on the 4th lap.
Vanthoor would once again lose ground, Daniel Juncadella stealing 3rd place from him on the 6th lap. The Belgian from Signature/VW was even deprived of 4th place in the final loop by Nigel Melker. Building on his victory in the morning, the Dutch rookie from Mücke Motorsport remains at the top of the general classification before the Sunday race.
