Since the start of the week, the vast majority of crews entered for the 57th edition of the 12 Hours of Sebring have begun their official preparations, with a view to the first event of the 2009 American championship. Le Mans Series.
On the side of home Peugeot , Sebastian Bourdais – already winner of the 12 Hours of Sebring on a Panoz GT2 three years ago – returned to familiar territory, but unfortunately for the Le Mans driver, the tests did not quite go as he hoped. During the second day of testing, the #08 Peugeot went off the track and hit the wall between turns 5 and 6 on the first lap.
“I lost control of the car because of the cold tires! », declared Bourdais. “I had only done three-quarters of a lap when I hit under the bridge. The damage is all on the right side. »
Not too many problems however, since the 908 HDi was quickly repaired to resume the series of tests.
