Sébastien Loeb (Peugeot 208 WRX) won his semi-final on the opening of the British Championship of Rallycross at Silverstone. The nine-time world rally champion beat Kevin Procter's Ford Fiesta in his heat.
The other semi-final was won by his teammate Timmy Hansen, who preceded the Audi S1 – EKS RX of Andreas Bakkerud, another World RX resident who made the trip to England. The final will take place a little later in the afternoon, with the two Peugeot 208 WRXs well placed at the head of the grid.
