Ryan Newman, already a winner in Phoenix this season, was the fastest during qualifying for the Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte. The driver sponsored by the US Army beat the driver in good form of the moment, Kurt Busch, winner of the All-Star race on this same circuit last weekend. Followed by Martin Truex Jr, Kasey Kahne and Jimmie Johnson.
