Franz Wittmann (Peugeot 207 Super 2000), who started in fourth position during SS13, hit a side wall after two minutes in SS13, between Lantosque and Luceram. The Austrian driver had to pull to the side a few dozen meters after contact, subsequently giving up.
Olivier Marty (Abarth Grande Punto S2000), who crashed in SS12, also retired.
