Climbing up to fifth place, Juan Pablo Montoya was very close to scoring big points on the Sonoma road course, where he took his first victory in Nascar in 2007. A contact with Brad Keselowski (Miller Lite) seven laps from the checkered flag relegated him to 22nd position.
At the finish, the Earnhardt Ganassi Racing driver did not hide his frustration: ?It?s not easy to race with drivers who have never been good on road circuits or who don?t have experience on this type of track. It cost us countless points today.”
Earlier in the race, the Colombian had himself pushed Kasey Kahne (Red Bull Racing) off the track to take fourth position.
