Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen Polo) set the best time at the World RX tests in Montalegre with a time of 38''301, already improving by 6 tenths the old record of Petter Solberg which dated from 2014. The PSRX VW resident Team Sweden preceded their Norwegian teammate by 8 hundredths, while Timmy Hansen (Peugeot 208) completed the top three by one tenth.

Mattias Esktröm (Audi S1), the first leader of the Championship after his success in Barcelona (Spain), and Sébastien Loeb (Peugeot 208) completed the top five ahead of Timo Scheider (Ford Fiesta) who seems to have encountered mechanical problems in the last session.

Jean-Baptiste Dubourg (Peugeot 208) set the 17th time, 1”2 behind the benchmark. His teammate Grégoire Demoustier is more than 4s behind.
