Nasser Al-Attiyah's Dakar co-driver Mathieu Baumel set the best qualifying time in the guest category of the Andros trophy in Lans en Vercors on Friday. He is narrowly ahead of singer Claudio Capéo and GT4 driver Andrea Bénézet.
For his debut in the competition, cyclist Grégory Baugé caused a red flag because of an exit.
Arnaud Tsamère and Hugo Laugier place fourth and fifth respectively in qualifying.
