Due to the departure of several manufacturers previously involved in Global Rallycross Championship, the organizers of the American Championship responded by launching the Red Bull GRC Gold class which will become the premier category of the discipline.

Concretely, the GRC Lites will replace the Supercars by evolving in terms of bodywork and by having mechanical developments “designed to reduce gaps in the peloton and highlight the abilities of the drivers”.

This new category will feature a calendar of seven rounds including a final scheduled outside the New Continent at Lydden Hill (Great Britain) on October 27 and 28.

“We are going to give Rallycross back to drivers with the Gold category, promises Colin Dyne, the director of the GRC. By creating a new generation of rallycross cars, the Gold category will provide a platform where drivers can showcase their skills and deliver even more exciting racing for the public. »
