Jean-Pierre Nicolas, former winner of the Rally Monte Carlo and current manager of sports development at the IRC, was delighted after his reconnaissance of the Ukrainian event. “The stages were a bit like the ones we have at Monte Carlo and Sanremo; with good asphalt and average speeds around 90? 100km/h”, commented Jean-Pierre Nicolas on the IRC website.
“Yalta is located on the Black Sea and the stages are in the mountains behind the city. This rally will therefore be really compact,” he added. “In fact, there will be more special courses than link courses. I was also impressed by the service park set up by the sea.”
