At Silverstone, during the second and final free practice session of the day, Peugeot took the lead. Nicolas Minassian, at the wheel of the official 908, set a time of 1:43:935. The Peugeot Oreca confirms the domination of French cars by settling in second place. Behind, we logically find the two Audi R15 plus, Allan McNish achieving his best lap in 1:45:789, almost two seconds slower than the Peugeot n°1.
The LMP2 category sees the Ginetta-Zytek Quifel-ASM of Olivier Pla and Miguel Amaral dominate the competition, ahead of the HPD-ARX-01c of Strakka Racing, and the Lola RML n°25, comfortably installed at the top of the provisional general classification.
L?Aston Martin AMV8 JMW of Robert Bell and Darren Turner completed the 5,891 km of the Silverstone circuit in 2:03:891, setting the best GT2 time under the noses of the Ferrari and other Porsche. Deuxièmes du championnat, Toni Vilander, Giancarlo Fisichella et Jean Alesi hissent leur F430 AF Corse au deuxième rang, juste devant la Porsche de leurs rivaux Marc Lieb et Richard Lietz.
