Vitaly Petrov will try rally. The old pilot Renault, Lotus and Caterham in Formula 1 will take part in Rally Karelia (first round of the Russian Rally Championship) on January 25 and 26, 2019. The 34-year-old Russian will be at the wheel of a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX N4.
“I always dreamed of starting in rallying, and finally it will come true, Vitaly Petrov gets carried away. More so far I had a lot of errands to run with SMP Racing, quite a few flights to take, so there was no possibility. The objective is to see the finish. The team boss, Andrey Zhigunov, was a seven-time Russian rally champion, I have no doubts about his abilities. He helps me a lot, as does my co-driver Dmitry Yakovchenko. »
