Jimmie Johnson can thank the rules of the Nascar. Due to the rain, and since the cars are not running on wet tracks, the Talladega qualifying session was canceled. Leader of the general classification of the Sprint Cup Series, Jimmie Johnson was therefore propelled to pole. The three-time champion will therefore start on Sunday ahead of Mark Martin, Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart.
