Jimmie Johnson was fastest at Watkins Glen and will start on pole on Sunday. The three-time champion of the Nascar and second in the current standings achieved his first pole of the season, apart from the one won during the All-Star race in Charlotte. During the qualifications held under the New York State sun, Jimmie Johnson beat Kurt Busch, Denny Hamlin, Marcos Ambrose and David Stremme. Kyle Busch is 8th, Juan Pablo Montoya 10th. Tony Stewart, championship leader, will start in 13th position.
