Mattias Ekström (Audi S1) was the fastest in the first qualifying round of the World RX in Lohéac (Brittany). The EKS boss-pilot beat Sébastien Loeb (Peugeot 208), while Andreas Bakkerud (Ford Focus RS) took third place ahead of Timmy Hansen (208) and Ken Block (Focus RS).
Petter Solberg (DS 3) finished sixth ahead of Davy Jeanney (208), Toomas Heikkinen (Audi S1) and Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen Polo).
Timur Timerzyanov (Ford Fiesta) severely damaged his car when he left the track at turn 2.
