On the Holjes route, Sébastien Loeb (Peugeot 208 – Team Peugeot-Hansen) got off to the best start by winning the first qualifying round. The Frenchman is ahead of Johan Kristoffersson (VW Polo – VW Team Sweden) and Niclas Grönholm (Ford Fiesta – Olsbergs MSE), son of double world rally champion Marcus Grönholm.
Less success for Petter Solberg (Citroën DS3 – PSRX), forced to give up after contact with Davy Jeanney (Peugeot 208 – Peugeot Hansen Academy). A broken suspension for Andreas Bakkerud (Ford Focus RS RX – Hoonigan Racing) and an accelerator problem for Mattias Ekström (Audi S1 – EKS RX) got the better of two other favorites.
