Reinis Nitiss (Fiesta) is the first leader of World RX which begins this weekend in Montalegre. The Olsberg resident set the best time over both rounds ahead of his teammate Andreas Bakkerud, while Topi Heikkinen and Anton Marklund followed in the Marklund Motorsport Volkswagens. Timur Timerzyanov (Peugeot 208) was nevertheless the fastest during the first two sessions, but the reigning European champion was disqualified following contact with Petter Solberg (Citroën DS3) which forced the Norwegian to retire. Jacques Villeneuve (Peugeot 208) is in 14th place and will have to gain two positions to qualify after suffering from a puncture.
