Via a post on his Facebook page, the Finn Toomas Heikkinen announced his departure from the EKS RX structure, with which he competed in the World Championship of Rallycross for two seasons.
« I would like to thank the whole team and especially Mattias for everything that has happened over the last two years, says Heikkinen. We had a lot of fun and amazing times.
I'm really happy that we both finished on the podium in Germany, in one of my last races with the team. I've made a lot of friends at EKS and I wish them the best for the future.
Now I'm moving on to the next step. I'm not sure yet what the future will bring, but I will be able to say more in January. »
In two years at EKS RX, Toomas Heikkinen failed to establish himself on the world stage but achieved four podiums in Portugal, Hockenheim and Argentina in 2016, and Estering in Germany in 2017.
