Alfa Romeo enters three vintage cars for the Mille Miglia

Alfa Romeo and the Mille Miglia, it's an Italian passion that has lasted for almost a century. This year, the Milanese firm is making its return to the legendary event between Brescia and Rome.

The general manager of the stable F1 Alfa Romeo-Sauber Alessandro Alunni Bravi will participate in this 2022 edition (June 15-18), which takes place at the same time as the Canadian Grand Prix. He will be on board an Alfa Romeo 1900 Sport Spider alongside Italian racing driver and television presenter, Vicky Piria.

Alfa Romeo will also put two other exceptional models on the road: a 6C 1500 Super Sport (winner of the 1928 edition) and a 1900 C Super Sprint Touring. The Italian brand won 11 Mille Miglia races between 1927 and 1957.

Originally created in 1927, the Mille Miglia event was run 24 times as an endurance race on a round-trip route from Brescia to Rome until 1957. Relaunched as an endurance race regularity in 1977, it is now run with cars that participated in the first thirty years of the race.
