Éric Hélary leads ICONIC Racing to victory at the Daytona Classic

ICONIC Racing, the structure of Florent Moulin, returned to Daytona 3 years after its last participation. Éric Hélary, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1993 teamed up with Gérard Lopez on this occasion at the wheel of a Saleen S7R GT1. After a restoration carried out between 2018 and 2019, ICONIC led this GT2019 to class victory in 1 in Endurance Racing Legends by Peter Auto.

After qualifying in 4th position, the best the car could hope for against the LMP900 and Daytona Prototype of the time, the start was given for 4 races contested in 24 Hours on the Florida oval.

After three first rounds disrupted by numerous Safety Cars, the final segment of the race was to prove decisive in deciding between the Saleen, a Riley&Scott – Chevrolet LMP900 and a pack of Daytona Prototypes very comfortable at home. The round finally ended with a group victory for the French crew, the second ahead of the prototypes after the 2019 round of Endurance Racing Legends at Le Castellet.

The structure's 2023 program will be announced in January and should once again cover both sides of the Atlantic, culminating in the celebration of the centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
