The studio developing video games in particular Formula 1 has a new owner. While Take-Two Interactive seemed to be in pole position, it was ultimately Electronic Arts who won. To acquire it, EA offered 1,2 billion dollars (a little less than a billion euros) against 870 for Take-Two Interactive.

« We believe this union provides an exciting and prosperous future for Codemasters, enabling our teams to create and deliver bigger and better games to an extremely passionate audience », explains Gerhard Florin, president of Codemasters.

In addition to the Formula 1 game, Codemasters is developing other car games such as Project Cars, Dirt and Grid.

The agreement between the two parties should be definitively signed in the first quarter of 2021.
