Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo: the Hypercar of the future

No, you'll never see this car grinding down the asphalt in real life... but you can still drive it. At least, virtually. Ferrari tried his hand at the style exercise of the game Gran Turismo 7 and its collection of Vision Gran Turismo. The objective: to define your own vision of the cars of the future, near or far. Several major manufacturers had already revealed their concepts, like McLaren, Jaguar, Lamborghini and even Alpine. This time, it is the Italian firm which has stepped up to produce a virtual prototype called… Vision Gran Turismo.

The same engine as the 499P… but boosted to 1030 horsepower

The Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo is the first car concept car designed by Ferrari and specifically dedicated to the world of virtual motorsport. With a spectacular, futuristic design based on the Prancing Horse's unrivaled racing heritage, it draws inspiration from the fascinating world of Ferrari's hugely successful sports prototypes from the 1960s and 1970s, such as the Ferrari 330 P3 and the 512 S. A nod to the past but also a good indicator of the future of endurance racing.

The technical characteristics announced are simply mind-blowing. The architecture of the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo is based around an advanced aerodynamic design and is equipped with the same engine architecture as the Ferrari 499P. Here, however, the engine has been made more extreme to develop no less than 1 horsepower at 030 rpm, with an additional 9 kW (or 000 horsepower) available thanks to three electric motors, one on the rear axle and one on each of the front wheels.

The Vision Gran Turismo will be playable in the video game Gran Turismo 7 on Playstation 5 from December 23, 2022, via a free update.
