Porsche Esport cup: Rogers wins, Job cashes in

Lors de la huitième des dix manches de la Porsche Esports Supercup (PESC) sur le Nürburgring, Joshua Rogers (Virtual Racing School) a franchi une autre étape importante dans la course au titre. Troisième dans la course sprint et vainqueur dans la course principale, l’Australien a étendu son avantage au classement général à 127 points.

The reigning champion Sebastian Job of Red Bull Racing Esports had started its hunting operation perfectly by winning the sprint victory.

But he lost everything in the main race. Tommy Östgaard (Coanda Simsport) led the peloton in the first lap followed by Mack Bakkum (LEGO Technic Esports Team), Frenchman Jérémy Bouteloup and Diogo Pinto (Williams Esports). Joshua Rogers and Sebastian Job started the charge from positions seven and eight and quickly caught up: Rogers started the Nordschleife in fifth place.

For Job, however, the race ended early: after the jump in the Pflanzgarten section, he lost power and stopped. Shortly after, Rogers overtook three competitors in one fell swoop at the end of Döttinger Höhe to move from fourth place to the race lead. He didn't let go of her again. Diogo Pinto (Williams Esports) and Tommy Östgaard complete the podium.

Job's abandonment risks signaling the end of the war. In the overall standings, Joshua Rogers now holds a 127-point advantage over teammate Mitchell deJong, with Sebastian Job ranked third with 367 points.

Next and penultimate stage, the Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, in two weeks.
