Mattias Ekström is indeed the boss of this first official day of the season. The Swede emerged victorious in the fourth part of qualifying, where the three other Audi A4s of Kristensen, Tomczyk and Jarvis remained in contention. The Abt team thus signs a hat-trick, while the Briton is the only one to have brought his 2008 model from Team Phoenix into the four-way final.
The Scotsman Paul Di Resta is the best placed driver Mercedes in 6th place.
Alexandre Prémat and his 2008 model from Team Phoenix could not go higher than Q2 and the Ile-de-France native will start from 9th place on the grid tomorrow.
