Kyle Larson on pole position in Las Vegas

For the first race of the “Round of 12”, second phase of the Playoffs, Kyle Larson will occupy pole position thanks to his victory last weekend at Bristol. The driver of the #5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro will start in front of Ryan Blaney, the nice surprise of these final stages.

Kevin Harvick will start in 5th position, Chase Elliott from 11th place. It is unlikely that the terrible duo from Bristol will have managed to calm down their relations in a week, which promises a tasty reunion on the track.

267 laps are on the program overnight from Sunday to Monday on this extremely fast 1,5 mile (2,41 km) D-shaped oval. Kurt Busch, the child of Vegas, has held the lap record there since 2016 at an average of 316 km/h. The inclination of its turns which increases towards the outside also offers several curved trajectories.

First segment: 80 laps
Second segment: 80 laps
Final: 107 laps

On March 7, Larson won the first of the two rounds contested this season in Nevada. A double would allow him to advance directly to the “Round of 8”, but before that he will have to dominate the 11 other qualified pilots.
