Daniil Kvyat (Carlin) achieved the best time at the end of the two free practice sessions of the F3 European Championship contested on the Red Bull Ring in Austria. On a wet track, the Russian managed to set a time of 1'46"022, two tenths ahead of Felix Rosenqvist (Mücke Motorsport). The Swede also led the first session with a time of 1'46"520. Carlin pilots Jann Mardenborough, Nicholas latifi and Jordan King were the only ones to finish less than a second behind the benchmark time. Championship leader Raffaele Marciello (Prema Powerteam) set the seventh fastest time behind Félix Serralles (Fortec Motorsports).
