Jean-Eric Vergne (Carlin), on the occasion of the third meeting of the British championship of F3, on the Magny-Cours circuit, achieved the same performance as at the season opener. The pilot of the Red Bull Junior Team completed the two fastest laps of the qualifying session and therefore took pole position for races 1 and 3 of the weekend.

The grid for race 2 will be defined by the final classification of the first event: the winner will draw a number, between 6 and 10. The number drawn will be his position on the starting grid for race 2, with a grid partially inverted. For example, if Jean-Eric Vergne wins the first race and he draws number 8, he will start in eighth position in the second race and will be preceded on the grid by the drivers ranked 2 to 8 during the first. test.
