Race 1 of the F3 European Championship at Red Bull Ring (Austria) was interrupted following a terrible accident involving several pilots (video). While Ryan Tveter was stopped on track after spinning, his car was hit by Zhi Cong Li who found himself propelled several meters into the air before falling back into the gravel trap. The pilots were taken to the medical center. Li remained conscious while Tveter reportedly suffered minor injuries.
Callum Ilott (Van Amersfoort Racing) was declared the winner of the race, securing his second victory of the season. Lance stroll (Prema Powerteam) and Maximilian Günther (Prema Powerteam) complete the podium after the German regained the advantage over Mikkel Jensen (Mücke Motorsport). George Russell (Hitech GP) and Nick Cassidy complete the top five.
