Edoardo Mortara (Signature), experienced driver and winner of the last Grand Prix F3 of Macau, was the fastest during free practice for the F3 Euro Series, on the Paul-Ricard circuit in Castellet, during the first round of the season. The Italian driver was the fastest (1:54:115), ahead of Valtteri Bottas (ART Grand Prix, 1?54??432), Marco Wittmann (Signature, 1?54??490) and Laurens Vanthoor (Signature, 1?54??518). It is therefore a good start for the French teams, who monopolize the front of the stage, as well as for the Volkswagen engine, which equips the Signature Dallaras.
The two French drivers on the field, Nicolas Marroc and Jim Pla, ranked eighth and twelfth respectively.
