Max Verstappen (Van Amersfoort Racing) set the best time in the first free practice session of the Pau Grand Prix. The rookie completed a lap in 1’11”298, ahead of the Championship leader by a tenth. Esteban Ocon (Prema Powerteam) who will still seek to distinguish themselves at home. Felix Rosenqvist (Mücke Motorsport) follows two tenths ahead of Tom Blomqvist (Carlin) and Lucas Auer (Mücke Motorsport). Antonio Fuoco (Prema Powerteam) made a mistake and damaged his car.
