Felix Rosenqvist (Mücker Motorsport) set the pace during free practice for the third meeting of the season. Formula 3 Euroseries on the circuit Red Bull Ring in Austria. The Swede set the best time in 1:26:408 to beat the German Sven Müller by 44 thousandths. The Prema Powerteam had another good session, placing three of its four drivers in the Top 4. Raffaele Marciello finished fourth ahead of his teammate Daniel Juncadella. Carlos Sainz Jr is sixth, just over three tenths behind Rosenqvist.
