As at Silverstone, for the inaugural round of the F3 European Championship, the Monegasque rookie Charles Leclerc (Van Amersfoort Racing) won the third and final race of the Hockenheim meeting ahead of Felix Rosenqvist (Prema Powerteam) and Antonio Giovinazzi (Jagonya Ayam with Carlin). Dorian Boccolacci (Signature) and Brandon Maisano (Prema Powerteam), the two French entrants, finished in twelfth and seventeenth places respectively.
