Like his sporting godfather Tiago Monteiro a few minutes before, Antonio Félix Da Costa rose to the top of the screen in the first qualifying session, under a gray sky and a falling temperature. With 2'13, the Portuguese from Carlin occupies the provisional first row ahead of the Swede Felix Rosenqvist (Mücke) 400'2, the Spaniard Carlos Sainz Jr (Carlin) 2'13'421, the Briton Alex Lynn (Fortec) 2'13'718 and the Spaniard Daniel Juncadella (Prema) 2'13'800. Nasr, Sims (with the only Nissan engine at Three Bond by T-Sport), Marciello, Serralles and Werlhein complete the top ten.

The exit of the Italian Andrea Roda (Zeller Racing) 7′ from the end caused a red flag, with Lynn having the best performance at that time.

With the high probability of rain for tomorrow, this starting grid F3 could be final in view of the qualifying race to be contested on Saturday.
