The organizer of the Macau Grand Prix and the F3 Zandvoort Masters died on Wednesday at the age of 71. Created in 1954, the Macau Grand Prix was to host the Formula 2 in 1983 after the Pacific Formula became obsolete. Barry Bland was able to convince the organizers to bring in Formula 3, less wide and more suitable for the narrow route of Guia.

From 1991, he was at the head of the organization of the F3 Masters taking place in Zandvoort (Netherlands), the vast majority of which took place. He kept this position of organizer of major F3 races until 2016.

He was also the first president of the FIA ​​single-seater formula commission until 2012, succeeded by Gerhard Berger then Stefano Domenicalli.
