Winner of his 2nd victory of the season last week on the same Silverstone track during race 2, the German David Beckmann (Trident) set the best time in the free practice session this Friday. He beat Jack Doohan (HWA Racelab/+0 »2) and the French Theo Pourchaire (+0 »3), which was the fastest last week at the same time. The other Frenchman Clément Novalak (Carlin) finished in 16th position (+0 »9).
Already the victim of a technical problem on his car last weekend, the championship leader Oscar piastri (Prema Racing) had to end its session prematurely after just 15 minutes, due to an engine problem. Note the good group shot of the HWA Racelab which in addition to placing Doohan in 2nd place, saw Jake Hughes set the 6th time and Enzo Fittipaldi the 10th, after a difficult start to the season.
