Callum ilott (Prema Powerteam) takes the first pole of the weekend in Hockenheim (Germany) in 1'31''646. He is 0''16 ahead of the championship leader Lando Norris (Carlin), the British asserting themselves as the men to watch this weekend. Joel Eriksson (Motopark) signs number 3e performance in front of the Carlins of Jehan Daruvala and Ferdinand Habsburg.

Tadasuke Makino is the best Hitech driver of the session in 6e place in front of Pedro Piquet, the VAR driver inviting himself between a trio of Hitech GP since Jake Hughes and Nikita mazepin follow. The Russian and the championship leader are only separated by less than 2 tenths. Guan Yu Zhou (Prema Powerteam) completes the top 10.
