The first FIA free practice session F3 was dominated by both Van Amersfoort Racing de Pedro Piquet and Joey Mawson, respectively in 49”357 and 49”386. The Prema Powerteam of Maximilian Günther and Callum Ilott followed two tenths behind the Brazilian. Harrison Newey placed last car Dutch in the top 5. The session was truncated by the arrival of rain 15 minutes from the checkered flag.
Piquet confirmed the trend during the second session after the track had dried. He improved with a best time of 48”478. He was ahead of Ilott by three hundredths and Günther by more than a tenth. Ferdinand Habsburg (Carlin) was 4e ahead of Joel Erikkson (Motopark) who had encountered problems in the pitlane at the start of the session.
