The son of the technical director of Red Bull Racing won the 2016-2017 MRF Challenge championship after the final in Chennai, India. The Briton, winner of the first race of the weekend yesterday ahead Mick Schumacher, had taken second place in race 2 behind Joseph Mawson, then in a preferential position to challenge for the title.
The last two races contested this Sunday favored Newey, winner twice. Tied with Mawson in the points count, a higher number of successes than his rival allows Harrison Newey to be crowned.
