After 45 minutes of delays due to a problem on the track, the drivers of F3 European were able to ride for the first qualifying session at Spa. Jehan She gave (Carlin) came out with pole position in 2'12''983, barely a hundredth faster than championship leader Marcus Armstrong (Prema Racing). Alex Palou (Hitech GP) finishes 3e of the session in front of a Prema triplet composed of Guanyu-Zhou, Ralf Aron and Robert Shwartzmann.

Enaam Ahmed (Hitech GP) ranks 7th ahead of his teammate Ben Hingeley (Hitech GP). The Motopark of Jüri Vips and Jonathan Aberdein complete the top 10. Sacha Fenestration (Carlin) failed to achieve his free practice speed and will start 12e.
