The rookie of Prema Theodore Racing, Robert Schwartzman took pole in a very tight Q1 at the Nürburgring in 1'20''637. He is 0”046 ahead of his teammate Mick Schumacher and more than a tenth Dan Ticktum (Motopark).

Enaam Ahmed (Hitech GP) remains in the top 5 with a 4e place ahead of the Estonians Ralf Aron (Prema Racing) and Jüri Vips (Motopark). Alex Palou (Hitech GP) is the first driver relegated to 1'21 in 7e position ahead of Marcus Armstrong (Prema Racing). Jehan Daruvala (Carlin) and Marino Sato (Motopark) complete a top 10 including Sacha fenestraz (Carlin) is absent, having failed to achieve his morning speed and having to settle for a 13e position.
