A petition was launched against the GP of Pau, its supporters complaining of the inconvenience for local residents by evoking "a demonstration from another age..., aesthetic, noise and atmospheric pollution unbearable for the inhabitants (who) strike(s) the public finances of the municipality for uncertain economic benefits and a non-existent media impact.
Fans of the urban event responded by launching a petition in favor of maintaining the event, with the slogan “Let our heritage and our city live”. Opinions in any case seem favorable to maintaining the Pau GP since the petition in favor of the Grand Prix already has more than 500 signatures while the other only has around a hundred.
