The European champion and defending champion of the Macau Intercontinental Cup took provisional pole position at the end of the first qualification. With a time of 2'11, he put himself out of reach of his closest opponent, who is none other than Rookie Callum Ilott. The British colt of Red Bull placed with Carlin conceded 0″822 to the Swede, but stole the provisional second row place from his teammate Antonio Giovinazzi.

Behind the Italian we find Sam MacLeod (West Tec) and Daniel Juncadella (Fortec). The Spaniard rehabilitated quite well, not being able to complete a single lap in a free session due to a gearbox problem. Pommer, Sekiguchi, Jensen, Menezes and Sims complete the top ten, at the foot of which the Monegasque finishes Charles Leclerc.

Finally 17th behind Dennis, Dorian Boccolacci continued his learning from Macau, even appearing in 7th place before the final improvements at the end of the session. At Signature, his teammate Albon is currently relegated to 21st place.
