Antonio Giovinazzi took the lead by overtaking Felix Rosenqvist on the 3rd lap, after the restart following the entry into action of the safety car. Because on the first lap, the Swede veered into the lead, the Italian moved next to Daniel Juncadella on the right at the exit of the Lisboa bend. But the Fortec and Carlin drivers clashed, with the Spaniard being sent into a spin and into the rails. Behind, some could not avoid the pile-up, including Albon (Signature) or Ilott (Carlin).

At the finish, Giovinazzi received a drive through penalty transcribed into a 20-second penalty relegating him to 10th place.
Rosenqvist therefore regained first place in this qualifying race. And it's Charles Leclerc (Van Amersfoort), installed from the start in 3rd row, never more than three seconds behind the two leaders, who climbed to the second step of the podium. The Monegasque, best rookie, was never worried by Alex Sims (Double R), who had taken 4th place from Sam MacLeod (West Tec), and even finished in the wheels of Rosenqvist, in difficulty with his brakes at the last round.

Dorian Boccolacci (Signature), who started 25th, got through the first lap accident well, and climbed to 12th place behind Jake Dennis and 5th of the rookies ahead Lance stroll.
