Marco Wittmann won the Macau Grand Prix qualifying race F3, contested in the dry, and whose last two laps were neutralized. The Signature driver was ahead of the Brazilian Felipe Nasr (Carlin), reigning British champion, from the start, also using a Volkswagen engine.

Roberto Merhi (Prema Poweteam), first of the drivers equipped with the engine Mercedes, took 3rd place after recovering well in the first laps. The Spaniard maintains a good chance of victory, as does Valtteri Bottas (Double R), who finished 4th ahead of Huertas (Carlin), Juncadella (Prema), Vanthoor (Signature), Abt (Signature), Sato (Motopark) and Van Asseldonk (Hitech). Da Costa (Hitech), after stalling on the first row of the grid, and Sims (Tom's) were the main victims of this qualifying race, the Briton having made a mistake in the grid lap!
