Edoardo Mortara, 2010 champion of F3 Euro Series and winner of the F3 Macau Grand Prix in 2009, continues its domination in the category. The Italian driver, still at the wheel of an F3 Signature, set the best time in the first qualifying session, in 2:13:068.
Valtteri Bottas, former ART Grand Prix driver? who decided to no longer drive in F3?, finished second (2:13:181) at the wheel of a Prema Powerteam car. Jean-Eric Vergne (Carlin), barely got off the plane after his tests F1 in Abu Dhabi, set the 12th time, in 2:14:751.
