In Zandvoort, Valterri Bottas made a good enough start to take the lead at the first turn of Tarzan, then quickly made a gap on his compatriot Mika Mäki, with 2? ahead of the first pass. The essential was done for Bottas who knew how to control his advantage during the 25 rounds to succeed Bianchi on the Masters list. Behind the Finnish ART and Signature drivers, Stefano Coletti took 3rd place from the start, Merhi clashing with others from the first turn.

Jean-Karl Vernay and Jules Bianchi were 4th and 5th in the first round. The latter passed Vernay on the 4th lap, Jean-Karl obviously having a faulty chassis. Passed by Sims in 8th, the Signature driver came out strong in 10th with Waldschmidt. Bianchi came back on Coletti but was unable to dislodge him from the third step of the podium.

Adrien Tambay, then 13th, gave up on the 14th lap during a spin in a sandbox.

Alexandre Marsoin finished 27th out of the 31 ranked.
