After the arrival of the first Russian pilot in F1 (Vitaly Petrov), F2 also opens to the East. Sergey Afanasiev, second in the International Formula Master in 2009, will join the championship Formula 2 in 2010. He will be the second Russian driver to appear there, since Ivan Samarin, second in the Formula 3 Russia championship last year, also joined the F2 field.
Currently, six drivers have been announced for the second F2 season: Benjamin Bailly, Armaan Ebrahim, Kelvin Snoeks, Jack Clarke, Sergey Afanasiev and Ivan Samarin.
