Ott Tänak (Ford Fiesta R5) increased his lead at the end of the eighth stage of the Rally of Estonia now having a lead of 42 seconds over the Fiesta R5 of Timmu Korge. The local driver remains under threat from competition since Alexey Lukyanuk (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X) is only one second behind second place. The Russian was 21 seconds ahead of Rainer Aus' Lancer Evo IX. Championship leader Esapekka Lappi (Skoda Fabia S2000) moved up to fifth place ahead of Sepp Wiegand (Skoda). Sébastien Chardonnet (Citroën DS3 R5) occupies tenth place. His compatriot Robert Consani (Peugeot 207 S2000) abandoned.
